Resurrection Project : Seun Shopping Centre
This project aim to revive the Sun Shopping centre, which has lost its communication, by creating social ground, I planned Seun Green belt park, which is a living park that can communicate with visitors.
History of Seun Shopping Centre
Seun shopping centre, which was constructed as the first commercial-residential building in Korea in 1967, still remains as a space with absence of communication despite various projects intended to create a space for citizens. Therefore this project has a purpose of reviving the Seun shopping centre by creating social ground. This will show various plans of Sweoon green belt park, which can make a lively communication between visitors in the 4th Industrial era.
To comply with the objective of park, a space for citizens, I collected the opinions of people through crowd sourcing. As a result, I selected the symbol of site that was the most commonly suggested as the objective of park. Therefore, I used the symbols of ‘Jong-no’ as functions and the aesthetics aspect of ‘Jong-no’ as directions. I sublimated the streamlined shape of the bell into the image of the surface, and arranged the layout of the surface by imaging the howling based on the functional aspects of the ringing sound in and out. To solve the problem with the absence of communication with users, I used the media wall which actively attracts the user’s actions. Alto, to highlight the presence of Seun shopping centre, I used the layout of objects that moved between the underground and the ground.
